General information
Bookings
Numbers are limited, so registrations are taken on a ‘first come, first served’
basis. Sorry NO REFUNDS. Registration must remain paid in
advance or at the start of each session.
Absences
Absences must be notified to the Sports Centre at the
earliest opportunity to ensure no confusion arises when a child does not
arrive. A message can be left on the answer phone.
Pick up
Please ensure children are picked up on time, or if they are
to walk home on their own, please inform staff at registration and
provide a permission note to that effect.

Fun Factory implements a behavior notification system
Child Protection Policy
The Hastings Sports Centre is committed to the protection of all
children, therefore all suspected abuse will be reported in the first
instance to CPS Officer Opal Taylor and there after may be referred
to CYFS
Complaints Procedure
Should you have any complaints regarding
the care of your youngster whilst on the programme, or have noticed
inappropriate staff behavior, please report this in the first instance to
the Sports Centre Manager, Opal Taylor or Emma Walsh at
the Hastings District Council.

Bopping TotsThe aim of Bopping Tots is to provide a fun, interactive session covering the fundamental movement patterns of rhythm and dance for young children under 5 years of age. The programme is tutored by a qualified dance instructor with many years of experience. She will introduce your young child to dance in an age-friendly way, emphasising dance basics, creative awareness and rhythm, and even some singing. Your child will be exposed to a range of musical styles, from the hippest kiddi-pop to classical favourites. This is truly a magical programme. Your child will be encouraged to dance, imagine, sing and create. This programme will resume in Term 1 2010 |

Hastings District Junior Chess TournamentThis is an annual event where young chess players can test their skills against others of a similar age. The tournament is played in a ‘Swiss Draw' style meaning youngsters play through five rounds without knockout. Byes and children from the same school playing each other may occur (often caused by late entries) however organisers will make every attempt to avoid this happening. Lil Bambino'sThe aim of Lil Bambino’s is to provide a fun, interactive session for babies and young children aged between 6 months to a year, covering the fundamental movement patterns with a parent. This age bracket is only a guideline as all children develop at different ages and stages. The Tutor will ensure skills are well demonstrated and that parents clearly understand how to assist their child to learn. Each class will be structured to include a warmup, fundamental movement pattern activities, skill circuit and warm down activities. Circuit activities will cover the fundamental movement patterns each week, which will be linked with the warm up. Parents will continue to work with children in this section of the class. Netball AcademyThe Hastings Sports Centre Netball Academy has been set up to give your child an advantage this season. The Academy is a five week comprehensive pre-season skills and development based programme aged for children five through to thirteen years old. Your child will learn the foundation skills required by young players to assist them to progress to the top of the sport. Your child will be coached by some of Hawke's Bay's top netballers, who have several years playing and coaching experience between them. The curriculum has been written using a variety of the latest knowledge of development skills for three different age groups. The programme runs on a progression model, each week of the programme reinforces the skills learnt in the previous week and introduces the child to new skills. All sessions will be held indoors on a full sized netball court at the Hastings Sports Centre. School holiday programmes - Fun FactoryEvery holidays we run two programmes, a junior and a senior. Our junior programme is for children aged 5 - 10 and our senior programme is for children aged 11 - 14. Each programme is filled with loads of fun and exciting activities to keep your children busy. Tumbling TotsThe aim of Tumbling Tots is to provide a fun, interactive session covering the fundamental movement patterns of gymnastics. Each class will be structured to include warm-up activities, group activities such as ball skills, games with balloons etc, skill circuit and warm down activities.
